It really depends what you are looking for, but one that I can recommend after doing some research on it myself is the Canon FS300.
It seems to be a good quality standard definition camcorder with good optical zoom (37x) and image stabilization. It does not have a microphone input, though, if you care about that. I couldn't find any definitive info on battery life, but I think it might be around 3 hours, which is pretty good and certainly better than some.
My friends and I are going on a road trip this summer and I want a good camcorder to take along to record some stuff.
I don't know much about them, as far as what to look for and to know what makes a good quality camera.
I want one with a good picture, good audio, I know cheap camcorders don't really shoot well in low-light so I'm probably gonna by an add-on for that. I'm hoping to spend just $200 but I can go to $250 if I have to. I don't need anything fancy, just a camera that will take good quality videos with good audio.
