Camcorder for the airplane

Jul 15, 2007 6:33AM PDT

Can you recommend a good camcorder for videoing from a small airplane?
I believe it needs to have:
- external mic input (for the intercomm)
- image stabilization?
- good optical zoom?
- tape? (to deal with the vibration)

Budget?

We could suggest you a $50 throw away camcorder or we could suggest you a professional $5000 camcorder. But there are always options in between...

re: Camcorder for Airplane

I am looking for a camcorder that meets the minimum specs mentioned. I am not interested in a $1,000 HD camcorder, but need to have one with a mic in, image stabalization etc...

I will likely move this to a DVD and on to the web. SO for the web, quality is it the key issue.

The first thing to go is quality. Otherwise, you'll be waiting many hours to upload 30 minutes of DV footage. Anway, take a look at the Canon ZR800. It seems to be recommended a lot here.
