Question

Camcorder for standard DVD

Aug 16, 2011 2:13PM PDT

My church needs a new camcorder. We provide DVD's of Sunday services for shutins and Nursing Home viewing. We need one that has an external mic jack to connect to our sound system.

It was suggested we use the Sony Handycam HDR-CX160. As I read the specs, it records in HD. From what I have read, copying the video to a standard DVD for playing on a standard DVD player is either impossible or takes asome time and a few hoops to jump through.

Is there a standard definition camcorder with an external mic jack and flash memory or HDD?

Or is there a simple way to make a standard DVD from an HD Handycam to play on standard DVD players?
