Question

Camcorder for light table

Aug 30, 2011 1:51AM PDT

Hi all,

I am in the market to buy a camcorder. I will be using this camcorder with my light table. The light table acts like an overhead projector. In my case I have a table with a frosted plexi-glass top, a light source above the table and a camcorder below, pointed at the underside of the table. The images from the camcorder will be fed to a projector, creating live, low-fi projections! Does that make sense?
Anyhow, I am looking for a cheap, but amazing camcorder to capture the images that I create on the light table. I need something that has a wide screen, manual control, and nice image quality. I am hoping not to spend over $300. yipes.
Since I am new to the world of camcorders, I would love to hear your recommendations. Thank you kindly.
Sean

Thanks ~ looking for a good camcorder

Thanks Bob for your reply. I have the projector covered. I am just looking for a camcorder under $300. The security camera is an innovative idea but I need something with a bit more control (manual focus, wide screen). I was curious if somebody could recommend a good camcorder for that price. Thanks again.

"It's got big nasty teeth."

Camcorders, all that I find today autoshutoff and ruin the day for folk that want to do what you asked. The security camera idea is not very new. It's how it's done. There are better units.
