Camcorder for a project - advanced timing

Nov 22, 2010 8:21PM PST

Hi all,

I need a camcorder for a scientific project with advanced timing functions.

The idea is as follows:

I need to set up a camcorder in one place on a tripod, then I need it to record at specific intervals (and maybe even days). For example, record 1 hour videos from 9-10, 12-13, 16-17 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays. Given sufficient memory capacity, I would prefer to download the videos for storage on my PC e.g. once a week. The camcorder would be located close to the mains electricity source, so battery life is not so important. The video quality is also not very important, as long as it's reasonably good.

The price range again is not very important, i.e. I can afford anything up to ~ ?1000, but if a cheaper model would do the job, then that would be sufficient.

Many thanks in advance if you have any suggestions.
