Camcorder external microphones

by bikemate / August 16, 2004 4:56 AM PDT

Can anyone reccommend a good shoe mounted microphone for a camcorder, I have no experiance with this type of mic, but it must be better than the mic built in to the camcorder. I do videoing for plays and shows etc
which usally means being a faire distance from the stage, radio mics would be ideal, but beyond my budget.Any suggetions ?.
Ray.

I have an Audio Technica ATR25 that works pretty well.

I don't know what they sell for, but mine wasn't terribly expensive on eBay. It fits in the light 'socket' on the camera. There are all kinds in many price ranges.

sennheiser mke300

I have a sennheiser mke 300 (?) that I like. any cam- mounted mike is going to sound, well, distant . . . but this was $179 new and works well. watch out, these shotgun mikes sometimes dip into the frame, so you have to zoom in to get them out. a pain which I haven't been able to fix yet - fj

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
