I just purchased an HD LCD monitor for my computer and also ordered Play Station 3.
The monitor has an HDMI interface connector, so my plan is to hook up the PS3 to the HDMI plug on the monitor. And, of course, the monitor will be connected to my PC as well.
However, the monitor does not have speakers, and I just purchased a 2.1 speaker system to upgrade the speakers I have now.
What I need to know is can I connect the new speakers to my CPU and still get audio when I switch to HDMI mode to play PS3, or do I need to hook up a separate set of speakers directly to the PS3?
I am hoping there is some way to avoid having one set of speakers for the PS3 and another set for my PC.
Thank you in advance.
