California - Wednesday AM

My daughter called Wed AM and told me they were moving President Reagan from the Library in Simi to Pt Magu NAS then to Wash DC. She said they were routed via the 123 Fwy to the 101 Fwy north (intersection is three blocks from her home) and she was going to go watch. Here is her "after action" report:

"Well we did it. I called Jan and off we went to the Ventu Park overpass, which was already filled with people and more were running up. I basically found an empty curb and parked. The freeway south bound was snagged and crawling. Northbound was empty. We ran up and I saw my other neighbor Don, standing there with his flag in hand. A local fire engine company came up and parked their rig behind us and all the crew got on top of the truck in uniform. About 5 minutes went by and here they came. All kinds of CHP cars and motorbikes. Don saluted as did all the firemen and most of the men there. 5 seconds and away they went. I'm glad I went."

I'm sorry the state funeral is being held while I'm at work, but I probably wouldn't get to see too much of it anyway. How do you explain what's going on to a toddler?

One of my earliest childhood memories (I was 4) is of watching JFK's funeral with my mother and asking her why she was crying.

Welcome to parenthood....your don't attempt to explain in
any meaningful way. Save the conversation to when she finds it in her history books.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
