I see so many add ons such as Web "protection" from the usual antivirus suppliers and the speed drops.
That Cisco sounds like one I had issues with. For a test, try it without the router. Connect direct to the cable modem and re-test.
Hello... I just had Cable Internet installed at home mostly based on CNET speed test where the Cable connection shows around 11,500 kbps and the Phone company DSL around 2600 kbps. Seemed like a no brainer to go to Cable. HOWEVER, now the response time for web pages on Cable is MUCH slower than that on the DSL. Other equipment involved: NetGear GC300D provided by the Cable company and a CISCO VALET M20 router that I had to purchase. What is the issue here? I still have the old DSL connection. Should I cancel the Cable serviceand go back to the DSL?
