I just called the 1800samsung number and was told that they are not aware this issue at all and that I would need to pay to have the board changed. I'm at work and can't really deal with it now but I am so disappointed in Samsung
I hope someone can help! I have spoken to countless people at the big box stores as well as through my cable company and no one can figure this out. I have a 46" samsung lcd TV that is hooked via HDMI to a time warner scientific atlanta cable box. The problem is that the remote range is only a few feet. I literally have to get up from the couch (which is only 10 feet away) to stand directly in front of the cable box to use the remote. Its very frustrating...... I have spoken with the cable company and they sent people out twice, both times the boxes were switched, as were the remotes. Still nothing has helped. There answer was that the TV is emitting a signal interfering with the cable box and that there is nothing they can do. To test that theory I moved the box to a different lcd tv (also a samsung) in another room and it worked perfectly and had great range. I don't get it - what do I need to do to get this to work properly - I searched and cant find any known issues. I went to the electronics store and they said to cover the sensor on the cable box with masking tape to see if that helps to block out the noise - needless to say that didn't help. Then I bough a $100 remote extender that is supposed to increase the range to 100ft, but nope that didn't help either. The only things hooked up here are the TV, cable box and a dvd player - can someone help? PLEASE. I feel like its 1960 and everytime I need to change the channel I have to get up to do it.
