cable recommendations for plasma tv and surround sound

by sampson / March 4, 2005 9:35 AM PST

I am purchasing a panasonic plasma tv TH-42PWD7UY.
And I have a Yamaha HTR 5660 receiver and a yamaha dv c6660 dvd player. With an RCA direct tv digital satellite receiver.Model DRD486RH.
I know what cables I need I just wanted to know what brand cables are recommended to get the most performance without spending unecessary amounts of money.
I will need 2 sets of component level cables RCA to RCA.
And 1 set of component cables RCA to BNC
and 3 sets of optical audio cables with toslink connectors.
I have been reading this forum alot and have come to really respect some of the opinions I read here after researching there recommendations so your input is appreciated.

the cable that goes from the surround sound receiver to the tv is RCA to BNC. The other two cables are from the dvd to surround receiver and from the satellite receiver to the surround receiver. These are RCA to RCA and all my audio hookup are digital optical going to the suroound sound, but I was suprised to see that the tv did not have any digital optical audio inputs, won't this degrade the true surround sound signal???
