I'd keep with that line but stick to modem for that and a router for the router work.

I'd also dismiss 20 dollar models if you want top performance.
I am moving and the new location does not have good service for AT&T internet so I am going back to cable. I was spoiled with fiber to my door where I live now. I am going to buy by own equipment. I have read one or two negatives about the Surfboard 6580, which seemed like a no brainer. Am I being paranoid? I need stability more than top speed. Good modem router combinations?
