Question

Cable from laptop to TV--Question

May 13, 2018 3:04PM PDT

A while back I purchased a  DisplayPort (DP) to HDMI Cable, 4K Resolution Ready to connect my laptop to my Samsung TV. It was only 10 feet long since I had the laptop close to the TV. I was able to get on the laptop and see videos/movies through the laptop on the TV, which is what I wanted.
However, I want to have the laptop next to my recliner (which will be about 15 feet from the TV and run a cable from the TV to the laptop in a different route (I want to have the cable run from one wall to the opposite wall under the floor in the basement). I figured that I would need to have about 30-35 feet to do that.

My question --Is there any problems having a cable that long?

I see some cables that are that long but they do not say anything about 4K resolution ready--is that a problem?

Only know if you try.

My laptop to TV cable is 36 feet due to it being two cables and a coupler. Should really get it in a single but this works so I didn't clean it up.

I've used 50 foot HDMI cables (from Amazon, Blue Rigger for brands.)

What about the 4K resolution ready? Is that necessary?

Until and unless the cables are physically damaged, I don't think that there is going to be any kind of clutter when you watch movies on the TV.
