Cable Card Problem

by stumpsigpi / November 10, 2005 5:51 AM PST

Has anybody else been having troubles with a cable card? I have time warner and the samsung HLR5067W. Every three weeks the cable card is getting a firmware upgrade and then they have to come and swap it out and it works fine again?

I have 3 cable cards, 2 in Sony TV's & 1 in a Sony DVR.
The TV & DVR cable cards are highly problematic, some times certain stations do not work. It is very erratic & time warner has no answers, they are in the dark on this new technology. In 1 of my Sony's a Bravia it pplain does not work at all. Sort of a TV nightmare.

just give it some time..and all will be good. sorry to ask, any reason why you are using cable cards for your dlp? i'm assuming you're putting that tv on a tv stand which would most likely have room for the cable box. i was just wondering why you would use a cable card? (not trying to start a fight or anything...i'm just interested in interesting ways for a/v hookups.....(example: you have your tv built into a wall and dont want that many components to hook up))

thanks, mike.
