Although it seems strange when you have a 7.1 channel receiver/surrounds to improve your sound quality, you should have at least one option for TV speakers only on demand. You might have to pick up a few extra types of cables to see which type sounds/looks better.
Try the following connections (although it may vary since I don't know the actual audio outputs of your cable box (make/model?). #1 & #2 or #3
#1 For HDTV picture & HDTV speakers:
Comcast cable box (Component R/G/B out) --> (Component R/G/B in) Sharp LC-52D92U
Comcast cable box (Composite Red/White out) --> (Composite Red/White in) Sharp LC-52D92U
---------------------------------------------------
#2 For surround:
Comcast cable box (HDMI out) --> (HDMI in) Sharp LC-52D92U
Comcast cable box (digital optical/digital coaxial out) --> (digital optical/digital coaxial in) Sony Sony STR-DG920
OR
#3 Comcast cable box (HDMI out) --> (HDMI in) Sony Sony STR-DG920
Sony Sony STR-DG920 (HDMI out) --> (HDMI in) Sharp LC-52D92U
Just mute the HDTV speakers as necessary
.

Pedro
I would like to send the signal from my Comcast cable box to both my Sony STR-DG920 and Sharp LC-52D92U so that I can watch HD tv without using my home theater surround sound system each time I watch tv. Is this possible?
