You find that once in a while some boxes don't work with some TVs. From the box provider's view it's the TV, from the TV maker's view it's the box.
I have no reason to think it's not the box after my run ins with Slim PS3 issues.

I have a Panasonic Plasma and Samsung Smart. 5 yrs and 3yrs. old. The Satellite box HiDef is 3 yrs. old
Plasma has always been connect to box via Hi Def Cable cable without problem. Suddenly, when turned on, the picture comes and goes but audio remains. When picture returns from black screen it is good for a few min. and goes out. Sometimes it returns and has many horizontal static lines.
Satellite guys came out and tried using all 3 HiDef ports and nothing worked. HOWEVER, we plugged the laptop into each port and no problem. We were able to watch a gorgeous uninterrupted picture via the laptop only.
Satellite guys said it was our Plasma.
Took Plasma to a repair shop. In the meantime, brought in a 2nd TV from the bedroom and hooked up to the same satellite box (Samsung). 2 days later exact same thing happened.
Repair shop said nothing was wrong with the Plasma . They even called Panasonic to asked about the problem and Panasonic did not think it was the TV either. Brought it home and same thing happened. Connected using a Audio Visual cable and after a while static-like horizontal lines appear, but picture stays. I touch connections at the satellite box and lines disappear.
Called the satellite guys back and they return to tell me it is the TV and will not change the box even though I am CONVINCED it is the satellite box. They tell me everyone of my TVS that do not work via Hi Def connection will need to go the repair shop. EVERY SINGLE TV I have is the problem and not the box?
PLEASE SOMEONE explain how this is? They would not even install a brand new box to prove me wrong. They just left. How can my computer work in every port, but the same satellite box will not work correctly in any Hi Def port all of a sudden in ANY of the TVs. Am I crazy? It has to be the box right?
