Question

c0000218 Blue Screen Error (2000 Pro)

Have already asked around and gotten somewhat deep into the weeds in the issue, but after hitting a logjam on other forums, I've come here to CNET for help.

Abridged, I have a HP Vectra desktop which runs Windows 2000 Professional, but was stricken with the "c0000218" Blue Screen Of Death back in 2010. I've gotten fairly far in the process to fix it on my own, but still need a little help. I'll include links to my other forum posts on the subject, which include photos and screengrabs of my progress, for everyone's consideration at the bottom of this post.

Much of the heavy lifting has already been done by others on other forums, but more help is needed that they couldn't offer. Enter, you guys.

Thanks in advance for any helpful responses!
Happy

Answer
Sorry but

While I ran W2000 for years I learned that if that much effort was put into a failed or blown OS it's time to wipe the OS drive and start fresh.

This can rile folk that just want a quick fix but installing W2000 here was under 30 minutes back then.
