C:\WINDOWS\TEMP folder disappeared.

by dsheldon3 / January 30, 2007 12:26 AM PST

Was deleting a suspicious file from my Windows TEMP folder. I clicked on the suspicious file then clicked the delete button, and both the file and TEMP folder disappeared.I did a search for my TEMP folder on my computer and it is no where to be found.I also tried restoring the registry but my TEMP folder is still gone.Do I really need the C:\WINDOWS\TEMP folder ?

You can assign the temp folder as you wish in this OS.

Where is temp?

It doesn't have to be \windows\temp. You can put this anywhere. Sorry if I didn't tell how, here's why. This OS is over 7 years old and the prior versions some 12 years old which use the same setting to tell where temp is. After using an OS for this long I may skip the details.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
