C|NET-CBS collaboration ideas, predictions, concerns...

by shawnlin / May 16, 2008 3:14 AM PDT

I know the tech side of C|NET the best, not so much the or B|NET side, but considering just the tech side, I thought it'd be a nice idea for us listeners/fans to throw out some idea of things we'd like to see as a collaboration between. below are a few of mine:

1) In depth, monthly feature stories on tech issues (net neutrality, copywright, Botnets, etc.). Tom and Molly would be great at this - and of course, Cooley would be an awesome Andy Rooney Happy
2) CNET TV 2-5min clips in weekly tips/tricks/reviews segment.
3) Jason Howell vs. Paul Shaffer musical duel (Go Jason!)

I have a feeling that some of the C|NET personalities will become near full-time experts like Dr. Gupta for CNN or how Miles O'Brien was when he focused on space/aviation for CNN. And that's okay, it's progress.
However, I think us "original fans" will have new company from newbies that may be more like fair-weather-fans - think of the "original Apple community" vs. those who have recently kinda bught a membership into that club instead of earning it, ya know? It' not a serious concern of mine, it's just that the overall character of the community is likely to change. ...hmmm, I wonder if we can create a welcome kit for newbies? Wink

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
