C:\ My Backup

by caktus / April 3, 2008 8:02 AM PDT

Running XP Home with SP2.

What is C:\ My Backup? I've only noticed it's presence since performing a

Destructive Restoratoin about a month ago. Can some one tell me where it came

from or if it is just part of the OS which I never before noticed? It's quite

large, about 9GB. But I don't particularly mind as several times searching for

a missing file or folder, I would find the only copy, or non-corrupt copy in C:\

My Backup. And it's size is not a problem as I have plenty of storage space to

spare. The only info I could find on it was a tech forum post asking what it

was, which went unanswered. And a another giving instructions how to remove it.

Make and model of the machine could clear this up.

Those restore systems are not from Microsoft so to nail this one I'd share the make and model of the machine.

Thanks. I guess I should have included "Emachines" in my search.

I guess that's a good reason to keep My Backup. I suppose if I lost My Backup then I would have means with which to perform a Restoration should the system go south. I guess it showed up when I decided to keep protected/system etc. files/folders unhidden.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
