C Drive is full for NO reason! Help, please!!

Ok, so my 3 year old Acer computer is malfunctioning. The C Drive is nearly full for no reason. I have no documents, no pictures or anything on my computer except for a few programs. There is no way it can be full. Can someone help me with this? I looked to see if it could be because of Shadow Copy but that says it is set on manual and appears to be turned off so I don't see how it could be because of that.

If I cannot fix it by any other means I would like to clean out the hard drive completely and start over. But first I want to clarify some things... If I use Dban to clean my hard drive off completely my hard drive will still work right? I know I will need CD's to reboot do I make those CD's?

Thank you very much! Happy

Ther are various tools you can wipe yr h/drive with..however you will need your operating system cd's to run the setup again, XP VISTA or Win 7.. Do not forget you will need to load the drivers after you have run the setup or clean installation. So do not loose yr driver disks. Looks like you need to totally do a clean not reformat only but partiton and format so the file allocation tables is new and you start with a new registry.

this should solve yr disk taking up space problem..

Be sure that's all good. But why not go find TREESIZE and see what uses the hard disk space?
