From billstott, you know the rest. I got Memtest 8 onto disk, will haved to figure how long to run it.

From step by step configeration, I come up with, the follow file is missing or corruted: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM32.VXD, then it moves to C>

I should have thrown this out long ago, but it has become a sort of a challenge of fustration and glory. If you do not want to mess with me any longer, I will fully understand.

MEMTEST boots from diskette. You don't run it.

For who ever may be interested, I went from no prompt to full windows, There are probably other ways, but had a small goback program that offered me to boot up from the floppy, as there were no go back files

I put windows 95 startup in, it let me load from CD help. I did the same with windows 98 and again with ME. I let it delete all my files as I figured they were probably pretty much corrupt, and I had had enough troubles.
A lot of thanks to Robert.
