Question

Bypassing double Nas for plex server

Feb 28, 2016 3:12PM PST

I live in a apt with a MDU internet solution. I have built a NAS running FreeNas and with the Plex media server plugin. The plugin works for local devices, but i can't access it over the internet. The problem i am having is the plex site can't reach the NAS because of the double NAT that i am forced into because of the MDU setup. I contacted the apt internet provider and they will not forward ports. So i need away to get around this double NAT, where the NAS and the plex site can communicate with one another. Just so there is no confusion, i am not trying to access my NAS or Computer over the net myself, I do not want to use cloud storage, i have no way of interfacing with the Apt side router in any way. I would appreciate anyones insight into this problem.
