Buzztown Air and Space Command - BASC in our glory!

by TimTheRocketScientist / October 22, 2007 3:21 PM PDT

Being a rocket scientist, I've written the master plan for the Buzztown Air and Space Command (BASC).

The Master Plan:

1. Organize and elect a leader- myself of course
2. Start making technology: rockets, satellites, ships: all heavily DRM'ed so that only we can use them.
3. Scare Mahalo users into joining us, we might need Veronica
4. Ally with Revision3/Digg users, their users are fanatical (as shown in Tom's Top 5 Fanboys)
5. Recruit 4Chan- we'll need some WMD's (Weapons of Meme Destruction) and they know how to create them
6. Go to war with the TWiT Army
7. ?
8. Profit and sleep on beds of money like Tom

One question...
by indy1333 / October 23, 2007 12:29 AM PDT

How can we fight the TWiT army when the majority of us are part of that as well? Can we fight the RIAA, the MPAA, and senators who don't know anything about technology but insist on making laws about it any way instead? I, for one, would find that a more fulfilling victory.

Yeah, I posted here in the forums to see if anyone else was planning to attend, but didn't get any answer. Were you there? I was wearing a BOL/CNET green t-shirt.

that's a good point - probably best to ally with similarly frustrated folks to defeat the RIAA, MPAA, etc. if their hearts can't be turned...

I'll take Lead Mission Operations...
by shawnlin / October 23, 2007 12:41 AM PDT

As I'd like to use my space mission ops and emergency services ops experience for BASC - I'll take up lead for mission operations and/or be on the senior council.

...we totally need a Second Life environment for BASC - are flying machines allowed in Second Life?

Shilen, no I wasn't at Maker Faire, I had it on the calendar and forgot.

As for me, I can do orbital design, mechanical design, and some software. If anyone wants my undergrad code for orbital stuff, I GPL'ed it at

In reply to: awesome!

I agree, however, I've had to drop all side-projects in the last year since I'm doing a start-up video game development company in every spare moment I have.
