First off, if you have a warranty still, try that. If not, it will cost you a little. Compaq will gladly sell you the part, for a few hundred. More realistic, if you have a USB or Firewire port, you can purchase an external drive. It is not the fastest, but it will get the job done. Or, you can buy a slim drive and replace it yourself. Hi, forgive my novice question:
I think my dvd player on a compaq presario 2100 laptop is broken. I will troubleshoot it as much as possible but I think it might be somewhat damaged (doesn't play or decrypt dvds very often)
My question is, can I buy a dvd player or dvd writer for this specific laptop as I would for a PC. Other compatibility issues. I can think of the size for instance being important.
