Buying gaming/college laptop under $1k which should i buy?

Hi I am considering purchasing a laptop that best fits my future needs. I am a college student and a part-time gamer. I am choosing between these two:
Dell Inspiron i7559-5012GRY
Lenovo Y520 80WK00HSUS
Please help thank you

The lenovo will give you better gaming and over all perf.

Depending on how many games you install you might find the 256GB ssd to be a little tight.

And while the screen was nice, some colors flickered due to Lenovo's LCD choice. I don't buy that brand for that reason.
