The voice issue is not solved by using a receiver in most cases. That discussion has way more priors than I can tell you but most often you set the audio track to stereo and voices for many titles come back.
This is upsetting to folk that want all the 5.1 glory but miss that all that drowns out voices.
Anyhow, if I were to shop today I'd hit AVS Forum and see if I can stay in the top ten best sellers at https://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/electronics/3213035011/ref=pd_zg_hrsr_e_1_3_last
That list and work down the list to one with more than one zone.
Does anyone know of a source to talk to an expert about what receiver I should buy? I don't want someone who is invented to sell me specific receiver brands. There are a lot of specifics to discuss like my current speakers, room size, the need to drive a second set of speakers in the house, using surround sound without rear speakers, etc.. Then there is all my requirements and priorities, like hearing the main characters voices in movies and shows. I would be willing to pay for this type of service.
