Buying a PC for Web/Graphic Design

Dec 28, 2004 1:35AM PST

I've been using MACs for graphic design and have recently swithced over to web design on a PC. The company I work for is strictly all PC and since I have been using a PC for the past 2 months, I also want to get one for my own personal use. I want to buy a PC that can handle graphic/web design. I am using Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash, Quark and Dreamweaver. I want something that can handle all these programs and something that can be upgraded in the future. I am also learning After Affects, Premiere, Director and a 3D app (Maya or whatever I can get my hands on). Since I'm been mainly a MAC user, I am completely PC illiterate. The PC I have at work is great. It's a HP dc5000 with 3.2GHz, 1GB RAM and 40GB HD. I might purchase the same model, but I want to see if there is anything else that might be better or less expensive.

Thanks for the help.
