My HP was my last HP. I still hear of warranty and product issues. For me it was product with a bug from day one with HP failing to correct plus killing the laptop at 3 months in their service center. They shipped the now dead laptop back stating they had done all they could. Avoid.

The Dell may not be on par with the i7 and GPUs and I find the display to be barely acceptable.
If these were my only choices, one of the Lenovo's after I ask them about this issue.
Forget the Linux angle. On these models you can't install Windows either.
Right now i have a Surface Pro 3 and its total crap i would never suggest it to anyone because its so buggy and terrible and the warranty is total bulls***, so i really need a new laptop that doesnt crash periodically. It needs to be able to handle photoshop and other editing software pretty well, but most laptops have bridged over to i7 so thats no big deal, but ram needs to be around 8gb. GPU is quite important to me also, as i occasionally play a bit of counterstrike cuz its the only game that runs pas 23fps, but an improvment would be nice. pricepoint, around 1000-1500AUD. what are your guys' reccomendations
so far im thinking:
- Lenovo IdeaPad 510 15.6" Laptop (i7) the most favourable because the updated gpu
- Lenovo IdeaPad 310 15.6" Laptop (i7)
- HP 15-AY504TX 15" Laptop
- Dell Inspiron 15-5000 15" Laptop (A10)
