Have you been to the web sites for the different notebook makers? Most have models you can customize. I would suggest you start there.
Well I have my choices down to a few. But other recommondations are very welcome! I have never owned a laptop before, so this will be my first.
My first choice. A winbook W140
Second choice. Toshiba satellite m35-s359
A tad expensive. Nothing more than $1500
Third choice. Dell inspirion 8600
What attracted me was the prices online, and DVD burner. After reading reviews and others displeasure with the unit it has shyed me away.
What I'm basicly looking for is:
Intel Centrio chip -or- AMD 1.4+ GHZ
Thin & light
dvd-rom & cdrw combo drive
no compaq, sony or apple
64 video ram, not shared
moden & nic
No great need for wireless internet, wifi, or DVD-r-rw but would be nice additions, but don't expect all that in a thin & light notebook.
One last question about WinBook's durability & reliability. I have never dealt with one or anyone who has, just looking for input.
Input is greatly appreciated.
