Nov 22, 2013 9:24PM PST

Hi guys, im on the hunt for a better Desktop than i actually have, which is pretty bad:

Dell
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
x64-based PC
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 2.50GHz,
(RAM) 6,00 GB
Graphic Card HD 4400/4300 series

Im actually a designer and i have some problems at times with speed and RAM, ocasional gamer (not much tho)..
I came across this computer : link
My budget is somewhat around those numbers, do you think its a good deal ? Got any other better in mind ? Please share your thoughts!

Thanks guys!

Integrated/On-Board Graphics

This unit doesn't strike me as anything special. I can't find out what graphics it has so I'm going to write this is no gamer. Web, videos, sure.

Agreed

Yeah, it seems that most amd 8-core built computers use onboard video cards, but then again if this is just bad for games, then i honestly dont mind, like i said im not much of a gamer (as ive been using this bad one for quite awhile), all i want is it to excel in my work that is why i was more focused on the CPU speed/cores and RAM.

Got any computer that you would suggest ? Around that budget of course.
Thanks!

The office.

Not kidding here but at the office we snagged a cheap Tosh AMD A10 unit and it does almost everything well. Even games seem fine. Move to a desktop and the AMD A10 gets more interesting. Did you find an AMD A10 desktop?

Checked
Nov 23, 2013 6:38AM PST

Yeah, i find quite a few of those and A8 and stuff, but since i dont know much about hardwares what i do is check their benchmark at cpubenchmark.net and those ones were all at half of the one i mention, so if those run well, then that one would fly Grin
I found another pc now: link , has less RAM but the CPU and video cards are way better than my previous one, right now im aiming for this, unless something better appears.

Thanks mate!

Oh yeah i know, of course we cant expect a good gaming experience from these cards for this budget, but thats why i dont really care much for the video card, priority is CPU and RAM for my job, gaming comes afterwards, i will play whatever the card runs haha

The Avatar one has good RAM, but the CPU is bad, all the A10 and below and all the FX below 8000 display half the performance of the ones i quoted, even some i5 do, for the amd brand i was looking for all FX 8350 or 8320 and for intel i was looking for i7 (which we rarely find any with this budget).

On ebay we find a bunch of them, especially the FX ones, but the issue is that it doesnt come OS, so adding the price of the OS ( which is quite alot) the prices arent competitive anymore, so far this Dell is ahead on my list, even tho i wont be able to play great graphic games (or maybe i can with low specs) aslong it excels in my work, im happy Happy

Then if CPU is king,

You want the i7 Haswell and onboard/i7 graphics. You can add a video card later.

The office supplied a current gen i7 Haswell and it's worth it.

New one
Nov 23, 2013 8:05AM PST

Yeah agreed, i actually just came across this one, even tho its starting to get off my budget, for more 100 bucks its a better CPU, RAM, Hard disk and video card, i think its worth the stretch in the budget.. Down side is that people seem to be complaining about the power supply not been enough to get the best out of all the hardware.. There is always a catch! haha

i think you should need core i3 processor with 4gb ram. HP is a better option in Desktop.more info please click here http://updatemantra.com
