Many of the US websites like HPshopping.com will only ship to a US credit card and US address. If you want to take advantage of the high Euro versus the low US dollar (thousands of Europeons are hitting New York and Florida and Asians are hitting California for relative travel and retail bargains) you will have to travel over here and buy it yourself.
You may be able to order from online retailers who will ship to you but all the discounts on hpshopping.com (rebates, coupon codes, college student discounts, etc) are not available to you as you are not a US resident or in the US.
Some people have successfully had someone else buy the computer in the US but that would require them to ship it to you and also the warranty would only be good in the US.
That is the key -- you want a warranty that will be valid for you in the UK or you could end up with an expensive doorstop.
Believe me, international computer companies know that the Euro is much higher in value relative to the US dollar right now and they want to make that trading profit themselves not let you have it.
So, unless you are willing to travel over here many discounts are going to the importers/exporters. Or is that exporters/importers (Art Vanderleigh from Seinfeld fame)
