Read the other posts today about the Toshiba M35S456 retail (At Fry's Electronics on sale for 1799 now or Best Buy with 2 years no interest for 1850).-- retail price normally is $1999

However, if you do order online you get a 10% discount on the Custom order M35/M30 Toshiba.

You should also consider ordering the very similar HPZT3000 or Compaq X1000 (that is what I have) custom if you don't want the Trubrite LCD (nicer but the glass layer can have some reflection). And, on the HP or Compaq you can order a higher resolution custom).

You have answered your own questions regarding the Fujitsu. It only has integrated video (not dedicated), and it has the Banias CPU (1/2 L2 cache of Dothan Pentium M). No it is not worth it to pay $200 more on the Fujitsu for the Dothan -- you can get that CPU on the Toshiba or HP/Compaq for less. See X1000forums.com

This is how you can save if you order the Toshiba M35/M30 custom (and 10% off whatever price you end up at):

get only 256mb RAM (order 2nd RAM module cheaper yourself later)

get 5400 rpm hard drive (up to 50% faster than 4200)

get Pentium M 715 1.5 Dothan (you have to order 725 1.6 to get Dothan on HP/Compaq)

get CD-RW/DVD ROM unless you really need DVD burner for $200 more (Toshiba DVD burner is multiformat --
HP/Compaq is only DVD +/ DVD +RW)

Get the 64mb video (not upgradeable) -- HP/Compaq has this also (but ATI not Nvidia)

The 15.4" widescreen is a bit bulkier but it still weighs 6.2 for the Toshiba and 6.5 for the HP/compaq. It will fit in any Targus notebook backpack designed for a 15" LCD.

The Fujistu will weigh less but forget about it if you will play any games (integrated video) and widescreen LCDS will look outstanding on the Toshiba / HP/Compaq also.

Only Toshiba has the Trubrite though on the Pentium M notebooks (HP has Briteview but not on this line) so get the Toshiba is you like this. Crystal series on the Fujitsu is similar.
