I purchased the same model number but it came with the AMD A6, not the A8. Wonder if Best Buy found a way to reduce their cost a bit buy insisting HP use the A6 in the same model.
Wanted to see Windows 8 on this machine take a giant leap forward but I believe we took a trip down memory lane and landed in the bashed Vista territory.
Frankly I think Win XP SP3 is a much better OS for laptops and notebooks than Win 8.
As for security software, as always I start with a free copy of Avast and then if needs arise I move to the paid copy of Avast, which I have always had great success with.
The HP g7-2251 is an OK machine, but nothing special except the 17" screen at the under $400 price point.
I have actually disliked HP keys and key placement for a couple of years now.
Well I found a new laptop with an A8 AMD Processor but it only comes with Windows 8 OS. I have heard good and bad about Windows 8, I am not a heavy user just mostly emails, word docs, printing of word docs, web searches for products and information and storing pictures.
It comes with 4GB but wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade to 8 GB and how many slots does it have do I need to buy RAM Memory from HP as to not void any warranties?
Also is there any Security Software that works well with Windows 8 like Norton 360. When I visited their website it does not list Windows 8 yet if you follow the pages with WIndows 8 is suggests that most versions of 360 will work. Just want to be safe when online and not get any thing that will causes issues with my new laptop like virus trojan horses etc which has been blocked on my other computers so far.
Any info would be welcome.
