Question

Buying a graphic card

Apr 2, 2016 3:37PM PDT

Hi, I bought a Dell Inspiron 660 around 2013. I am looking to upgrade the graphic card that came with this pc. I looking for one that can play any current game well. I don't need to play games at ultra settings, just something that can have consistence fps. Also I want a card that has a low power consumption. My computer is not the slim model, so I think I can get a reasonable size card. Also, this graphic card will be a short term solution because I am going to buy a new computer in a year or two and I am going to leave this computer for my parents when I move out. So I want something that is around $100-200. My CPU is a intel core i5-3330 @ 3.00ghz and 8 GB of rams. I am willing to upgrade my psu to at least 500w.

So what graphic card can you guys recommend.

Thanks

I haven't bought the psu yet. But does the 950 or 960 need more than 500w?

Answer
Gpu

Two ways to go.
Your machine looks like it comes with a 300w psu.

Shop for a gtx 750ti.
This should work with no psu swap.
This is not a high end gpu but it will be a huge jump from your igp.

If you want to go higher shop for a gtx 950/960/970.
These will require a psu upgrade.
