Most notebooks have universal power supplies from 110 volts to 240 volts so that should not be an issue.
The issue is if you have a motherboard or LCD failure and you did not buy it in the US and there is not a strong US support network you could sunk.
If the notebook does not have a problem other than the hard drive, etc (or you can replace your own RAM also) then you could be ok if you know how to troubleshoot yourself.

I was thinking of getting an LG notebook from eBay. What kinds of issues will I face if it comes from Australia or Great Britain (I'm in the US)? Will I face a big problem finding a way to adapted it to plug into an electrical outlet? What other issues will I have to face?
