Buyer beware of Samsung Service

Jul 11, 2013 1:41AM PDT

SAMSUNG Cellphones will not last your contract!
And their service is the worst
They fix the phone based on the initial fault and send it back without checking to see if it is fixed.
Then you send it back in a second time and two weeks later they haven't even looked at it.
They get thousands and thousands of faulty phones in for repair every day and cannot keep track of where the phones are.

Buyer be ware if you get a Samsung Galaxy phone pay for the insurance which replaces the phone for any issue because they will not last the contract period of 3 years.

My Galaxy note was 14 months old and stopped ready the sim card.
Now I'm 5 weeks without the phone which is in for the second try to fix it.

Stay away from Samsung their service department is so busy they cannot help their customers.

.....but the manufacturer warranty is 12 months, why would it last for the length of your cellular contract ?? I don't know any similar electronic device that has a warranty longer than that. I have never had an issue with any Samsung product and I suspect that most people agree.

I am not suggesting that you may or may not have a legitimate claim, but your experience is not typical in my opinion. Sorry to hear of your troubles though.

You are very lucky keep your fingers crossed

I go the extended warranty because my son and 5 friends all had trouble with Samsung phones and told me to try another manufacturer. (Galaxy s 4 failed, Galaxy s2 2 failed).
I liked the Note from when it was announced and it worked well fro 14 months they just do not last.
However I use mine every day for calls and email and other apps.
Maybe you are a light user, good luck to you.

DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG!!
Apr 1, 2014 11:32PM PDT

The last two Samsung Galaxy phones I have purchased, failed after 3 months use. On both occasions samsung repair centre claimed water damage in order to avoid repairing the phone under warranty.

Neither of my phones came into contact with any liquid or condensation, i am very careful and look after my phone as I purchase the phone myself and dont use contract phones.

The water damage excuse is a Samsung SCAM. My phone wasn't charging due to a design flaw in usb connection, simple as that. This flaw applies to ALL Samsung Galaxy phones.

I will never buy samsung poor quality products again, ever, nor will family memebers, I will tell anyone who listens to steer clear and buy apple products where possible.

Samsung phones....

.......have always been good in my experience and I highly recommend them to one and all. Only problems that I have encountered have been my fault and I used my insurance to replace them. Many "so-called" warranty issues are usually user-created.

I know a certain percentage of any device will have defects, but it is not common or it would be public knowledge.

My thought is that some need rugged phones.

My son is gentle on most gear. His 70 buck slider phone from Samsung is over 3 years old and it finally has developed an issue. Believe it or not that's par for such devices. We'll look at what's offered and migrate over soon.
