Question

Buy new or Old?

I recently hooked up 4 speakers to my old Sony receiver and it sounds good but I don't think my 1990's receiver can put out enough punch. My front speakers are bose 150 watt speakers and my back speakers are 400 watt speakers. I would like some opinions on what to buy for a receiver. I am really looking at getting an older model being that most new electronics are not built to last. Any opinions would be great. Thanks
