Resolved Question

Buy new battery, new phone or wait?

Mar 20, 2015 6:20AM PDT

The battery in Galaxy S3 will only hold a charge for a couple of hours. A new battery is about $40.00 US. I was hoping to get an S6 when they are available (hopefully in April '15). The battery thing is beginning to wear on me. Should I just hang in there? Buy a new battery to use for a month or so? Or, how about a Note 4, today? Thoughts.

I have the same problem with my samsung. I am not sure if you already got your new phone or not, but I say that you wait till the new samsung s6 arrives! I know that it will come out this month or soon!! What i do is carry around my phone charger and I also have a car charger so my phone always has some batteries. I also turn off the 'location', because that drowns the battery as well.

Yes, but you may have bought a fake battery

This is a pretty well known risk- hence the much lower prices than 99% of OEM replacements. Some of the fakes are getting more tough to spot too.

Not sure why the OP couldn't wait 2-3 weeks though.

We got it over a year ago.

It was fine and now we've moved on. The product arrived in 2 days here but at the time it was an Amazon Prime deal so we didn't worry too much.

That's what i do as well

In fact, when I've bought cheaper non-OEM replacements from Amazon, they have credited my account without requiring me to return anything. Mostly for defective cable/connector/battery items less than $20, give or take. Keeps me hooked, I suppose Wink

Wait

I think you should wait for S6, That will be better for you. If you buy battery the same result will appear. So it is better to buy a new Phone.
