I think you should be careful here and tell a little more about the use of the laptop. The newer model has the faster x3100 GMA so it's going to show better overall "snap."
The r61i would be my choice...
I have two options, either a ThinkPad R61i for about $1100 or a Lenovo 3000 N100 for about $900 (those are the prices availiable in Sweden). What notebook would you buy of them?
