burning disc failure

by Driftingsoul_s15 / September 6, 2010 5:01 AM PDT

hi guys, need some help here....
i am using Dell XPS M1530, running windows 7 pro 64-bit.
recently, i have problem while burning disc.
i tried to burn an ISO file to a blank CD using Roxio Creator DE, when the progression is nearly done, it shows a message that the burning process is fail due to an error.
then i use Windows Disc Image Burner to burn the ISO file to a blank disc, again, an error occurred.
the error code shown is 0xC0AA0007. i have searched the code via google but seems cannot found any useful solution.
i wonder is it the DVD drive problem or missing some software and cause the burning problem...
hope someone can help me!
thanks!

I searched too and found the same answers that many don't want to accept. That is why is it that most can't accept cleaning the lens, trying other media (if plus, try minus, if minus, try plus) and swapping in a new drive?

Seems odd to me after replacing a few hundred drives this year alone.

I have the same error code occurring on my M1530 with Windows 7 home. I do not think it is the physical DVD drive, because some recognizable information is written onto the CD, but I am not sure.
