Burning and EDITING from window media center

Apr 9, 2006 10:36PM PDT

I would like to edit tv shows that I have recorded in media center.
I have movie maker and it doesn't like the file type that Media Center uses. Is there any way around this?
Is there some type of editing program that will read these file types?
Any help is appreciated.

That is sort of a dead end product.

Windows Movie Maker is proprietary. While I can convert it with tools like DVDSanta, WINAVI, the bottomline is to stop using such a proprietary tool so you don't get trapped.

Bob,
Thanks for getting back to my post.
Sorry that I am such a novice but Can you give me more info?
What other programs can I use that will allow me to record tv and then edit them?
This is all for sports. I want to burn some events to dvd for viewing later.
Thanks,

I use a Hauppauge TV/Capture card. It records to simple compressed .AVI files. Then I can edit such and then off to DVD with Ulead.com's DVD MovieFactory.
