burn mark on plasma?

ozcrabby,

I can appreciate the frustration, but nobody here has ever said, "Don't worry about it". I've written quite a bit on the subject here, but that's history. Let's see if we can solve the problem.

Image retention or Burn-in, depending on how bad it is, can go away with normal use ad Scrolling Bar.

One of the things you might try is the Scrolling feature in the Burn Protection Menu. Run that for an hour a day, coupled with full screen mode television. If in a week no progress is made, it may be damaged. In many cases, this will reduce or remove problems.

If you're using this as a gaming device, that's likely where the "turbo" burned in.

For games, I would recommend using dimmer settings (movie mode, perhaps, or with lowered brightness), as this will reduce the ability of getting image retention. The manual has specifications on static images, and this includes static images in games, so use those as a guideline.

I hope it's of some use to you. We do have technologies to get rid of some of the light retention, such as pixel shift, which I recommend using.

Keep me posted, and good luck.

hey mate
thanx for the reply and tips on a solution.
a couple of clarafacations i should of mentioned were that the word turbo was from discovery turbo on tv as i wont let the kids play games on this.ive seen all the videos of smashed screens from gaming accidents lol.
and it was infact the sailsman that told me not to worry about the burn in , not anyone here.

i will give those ideas a go aver the next week and see what results i get

thanx again , much apreciated

ozcrabby,

In the Screen Burn protection menu, you might also consider bumping up the pixel shift. Most people can't see the screen move in the intervals, so if it doesn't bother you (chances are, most people won't notice it), give that a shot as well.

Keep me posted.
