Additionally, what about the black bars on the sides that appear when using a 4:3 signal - any problems there?
Is burn in really that big a deal?
I'm considering the Panasonic TH-42PA20U that's gotten great reviews and looks fantastic in person.
What's the threshold for burn in on a display like this? I'd probably be gaming for about a half hour to an hour at a time. Are there certain images (bright colors) that are more susceptible to the problem? Would simply switching to a live TV screen and back every 15 minutes or so be enough?
I've read that keeping the contrast down goes a long way toward avoiding burn in. Any other tips?
I've also heard that plasmas have features to alleviate the problem - what are they?
Lastly, I know most LCDs don't have fast refresh rates, leading to ghosting and bluring in fast motion sceens. Do plasmas have the same problem? This would make a big diffference in action gaming...
