I just like to ease your mind a bit here if I can. Now I am not really sure about this but my guess is that it shouldn't cause any harm. I have heard of bright spot burn in but never heard of black spot burn in.
I have the Toshiba 46H83. It's a rear projection tv with 16:9 ratio. I am aware that displaying black bars on the sides of the tv screen for long periods of time will cause permanent damage. On regular tv channels I can change the image to fit the whole screen. However, on HD channels you cannot change image size at all. I watch A LOT of mets games on MSGHD and FSHD. Both channels have the black bars on the sides and I can't change them unless I go to the non HD channel. What should I do? Will this cause burn-in? Please help.
