buring dvd with Nero 8?

Jan 8, 2008 10:45AM PST

So I just bought Nero 8, planning to use it mostly for burning dvds, but I haven't been able to burn one correctly yet. When I add the files to Nero a note comes up stating the files I'm trying to add are not located in a video ts folder. Then it says to use Nero vision to create a dvd, so I try this, but it always freezes...

I was able to burn one dvd that is in avi format I believe, but the picture was terrible quality.

What's with this?? I thought Nero 8 is suppose to be straight froward and as easy can be?? I tried looking in the manuals and on their website, but I can't find anything. So here I am trying to figure this out on trusty CNet...

Doesn't Nero 8 do this as well? Shouldn't it?

menu and such...

What I am hoping for is to make a new copy of the dvd as it were initially. I just want the interactive menu with the movie... I asked about this months ago and someone recommended cdburnerxp or something like that. I'm beginning to believe that Nero 8 is not that beneficial at all...

Not trying to copy. DVD Flick isn't working either...

Thank you for the suggestion, however I am not trying to copy the DVD. I am trying to burn a dvd out of the files on my computer.

I tried DVD Flick and when trying to load the files it stated that they are not compatible with it.

Am I doing this wrong? When copying a dvd to my hard drive is there another file type I should be saving them as?? It seems like these Video_ts folders with all the files in them cannot be burned to dvd to make a pefect copy... Am I wrong?

Now I am confused! What "ripping" program are you using? Dvdshrink or what.

I use Neroultra 7 and I never have encounter any freezing problem.

I usually just use DVD Decrypter to rip.

I don't know what to do about that freezing bit, or if it'll create the dvd if it doesn't freeze. So I'm just trying to create the dvd out of the files I ripped.

There must be someone who uses Nero 8 that can tell me how they do it???

Does this affect performance, or does it matter at all...??

i noticed that I have a "Roxio DVD Rom Emulator SCSI cd rom device". I Had Roxio, but removed it and this "emulator" is still present. Would this affect anything?
