Built in SD card reader selectively working

by MMarian97 / February 1, 2009 3:10 AM PST

I wonder if anyone might be able to assist me with this? I have an Asus EEE 900HA laptop (Windows XP) and my built in SD card reader suddenly wouldn't read certain SD cards. I tried putting the cards in a USB card reader and it still wouldn't work. The laptop shows that a card is in the drive (for both the built-in drive and usb drive) but I can't open anything. The cards read in my camera and on other computers so I don't think it's the cards. If I put the card in the drive and restart the computer then it will read it until I take it out. Before now, my computer was able to read those cards. My device manager doesn't detect any problems.
