Question

Built a new computer and it's not working.

Dec 1, 2018 1:56PM PST

Built a new computer and its not working. In particular, it won't display anything. It powers on, light on, components are working however, like I said: no display. When it did power on the first time, it gave me five short beeps from the motherboard. (I think five, it happened so fast). I powered it on a couple of times after that and it didnt do it again. From what I understand the codes are a little different from motherboard to motherboard and according to this one it means there is something wrong with the cpu. I took it out and thoroughly examined it and I see absolutely nothing wrong with it physically. So I'm wonder if its a compatibility issue or a faulty CPU (and I know thats extremely rare), I'm not sure what to hope for but I know its not very clear cut and I'm hoping for some input by a community. I would call technical support but its a weekend.
Here's what I'm using:

Motherboard - AsRock x370 Taichi

Storage - Team Group T-FORCE DELTA RGB SSD 2.5" 1TB SATA III Internal RGB Solid State Drive (For MB with 5V ADD Header)

CPU - AMD RYZEN 7 2700 8-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM4 65w

Video Card - PowerColor RED DEVIL Radeon RX 580 DirectX 12 AXRX 580 8GBD5-3DH/OC 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI express 3.0

DIMM - CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000)

Power Unit - Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 850W Smart Zero Fan SLI/CrossFire Ready Continuous Power ATX12V v2.4 / EPS v2.92

Clarification Request
What BIOS is that board?

https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370%20Taichi/index.asp#CPU notes version 4.7 and since it did ship with older versions you may have to RMA this board for a board that supports this CPU with any shipped BIOS.

"Note1: AMD Ryzen 1xxx series CPUs are able to boot up with all BIOS versions. As to AMD Ryzen 2xxx series CPUs, please update the BIOS to the same as list or later version."

This tells me a board with an old BIOS may not boot.

It needed a CMOS reboot.
