Once you have the processor defined, you find a motherboard that will accept it. Best motherboard? Hard to answer. Which is better, Ford or Chevy? Stick with a name brand that will handle the processor and the RAM you plan to install. Other considerations are the expansion slot. Only you can decide what you need. Sound card? Video card? On-board video and audio?
Dear people, I'd like to build my own computer, designed for large-scale mathematical calculations. I'm thinking in a xeon processor series 5400 with as much RAM as possible. Question: do you know what would be the best motherboard for this kind of computer?
