Alright thanks. Is there anything else I will need to build the pc besides standard tools and included cables? Also, after assembling how do I install an operating system? (Windows 7) Thanks again, much appreciated!

No special tools needed. Various screws and MB standoffs
Jul 5, 2009 11:21AM PDT

come with case. Motherboard comes with cables, manual and CD Rom with drivers and other MB SW.

Re installing Win7... just have to download it and make the CD. Test the CD to make sure it works

MOST IMPORTANT . . . try the MB, CPU, RAM AND PSU OUTSIDE THE CASE TO MAKE SURE IT'S WORKING. Also, assuming it works...make sure you test the RAM thoroughly using something like Memtest86+.

One more thing...if the MB supports it, get yourself a floppy drive. Makes it easier to run some diagnostic SW including Memtest86+.

Keep us posted.

I already checked the RAM .... it's PC1066 with OC to 1333.

If you find any PC1333....let us all know.

The poster got 4GBs of highly rated GSkill PC1066 for $50 (good stuff I own 8GBs). 4GBs of PC1200 lists at $140.

Get a larger PSU the 500 is a little on the light side. Also, look at the ANTEC 900 tower as opposed to the 300 and see what you think, love the memory, that is what I use, have fun!

If I read it right...he's already ordered and

Got everything today. Everything works great after installation. However I can not seem to get Windows 7 to install properly. I properly burned the iso to a disc and my pc started installation. However at a point it said that a restart was required. I complied and when it restarted it showed the first slide of the Windows 7 installer. It didnt continue installation it restarted it. Any help on this? Thanks in advance

Oh yeah I forgot to state that I have a free vista 64 bit version available. Should I install that instead of 7?

Surround Sound
Jul 8, 2009 9:16AM PDT

The motherboard has surround sound. I updated the Realtek drivers and configured the sub/center, side, and front speakers (5.1). However whenever I start up something that shoud support Surround Sound,(i.e. Crysis) it only plays through the front two speakers. Any clue what's wrong. Thanks
